TEACH Hub

TEACH is a vital extension of the ABHISHALA program, providing a platform for digital learning and skill development. Abhishala’s TEACH (Technology-Enhanced Academic and Character-building Hubs) aim to empower underprivileged children through community-based learning spaces that integrate quality education, digital skills, and holistic support. Focused on SDGs 4 and 10, TEACH provide tailored programs to bridge educational gaps and reduce inequalities, especially for migrant and underserved communities.

The TEACH curriculum emphasises five areas: Technology, Education, Arts, Cooperation, and Health. Students engage in digital literacy, problem-solving activities, arts workshops, teamwork exercises, and health education. TEACH also support mothers by providing safe, enriching spaces for their children, allowing them to focus on work and personal growth.

With community partnerships, volunteer involvement, and teacher training, the TEACH foster sustainable development. Key teaching methods include project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, and collaboration, encouraging critical thinking, creativity, and social-emotional growth. The target beneficiaries are children (ages 3-18), parents (through workshops), and teachers (via training).

The expected outcomes include improved academic performance, digital literacy, life skills, cultural awareness, and increased school enrollment. TEACH also streamline access to education for migrant children by supporting documentation processes. Long-term goals focus on youth empowerment, community cohesion, and influencing policy reforms for equitable education, making TEACH a sustainable model for inclusive community development.

NIPUN Bharat

The NIPUN Bharat Mission (National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy) is a national mission launched by the Ministry of Education, India, with the goal of ensuring that every child in the country achieves foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN) by the end of Grade 3, by 2026-27. This mission aligns with the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which underscores the importance of foundational learning as a prerequisite for effective lifelong learning.

Alignment of NIPUN Bharat Mission and Abhishala :

The NIPUN Bharat Mission and Abhishala’s TEACH align strongly in their shared focus on foundational literacy and numeracy (FLN), holistic education, and reducing educational disparities. Both initiatives emphasize a mission to ensure all children, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds, receive equitable access to foundational skills that set the groundwork for lifelong learning.

NIPUN Bharat’s approach to achieving foundational proficiency by Grade 3 complements TEACH’ curriculum, which spans Technology, Education, Arts, Cooperation, and Health, and incorporates project-based and inquiry-based learning to foster critical thinking and creativity. TEACH’ emphasis on inclusivity and support for migrant and underserved communities is also in line with NIPUN Bharat’s mission to create adaptable, locally relevant learning environments that bridge learning gaps.

In terms of outcomes, both initiatives aim for improved academic performance, social-emotional development, and community cohesion. TEACH’ support for mothers by providing a safe, enriching space for their children also aligns with NIPUN Bharat’s goal to engage the community, parents, and stakeholders in children’s educational journeys.

Together, these initiatives contribute to a sustainable, inclusive model for education, with TEACH acting as a tangible implementation of NIPUN Bharat’s national goals at a grassroots level.

VOICE OF OUR LITTLE STAKEHOLDERS :

In October 2024, TEACH began working with Abhishek and Khushbu, siblings from a migrant family living in Mewla Maharajpur, Faridabad. Unlike most children in their neighborhood who attended school daily, these two remained out of the formal education system—not due to a lack of interest, but because their parents were unable to afford school-related expenses after covering rent and other essential costs.

Despite these challenges, Abhishek and Khushbu showed remarkable self-motivation. Their mother became their first teacher, helping them learn the English and Hindi alphabets, basic counting, and everyday vocabulary.  Read More
