About

In collaboration with Katha NGO, storytelling workshops have been introduced at the TEACH Hub to nurture curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking among children. These sessions use powerful, culturally rooted narratives to explore themes such as empathy, health and nutrition, environmental sustainability, and scientific inquiry. Through dynamic storytelling, role play, and reflective discussions, children are encouraged to connect with stories deeply and meaningfully, making learning both engaging and transformative..

Objective

The storytelling workshops with Katha aim to build empathy and emotional intelligence through stories centered on diverse human experiences. They promote health and nutrition awareness in simple, relatable ways, and introduce concepts of environmental sustainability through nature-focused narratives. By using storytelling to explain scientific ideas, the workshops foster curiosity and creativity. They also help develop literacy, active listening, and communication skills. Most importantly, children are encouraged to reflect, question, and create their own stories—linking imagination to real-world issues.

Impact

The sessions have sparked lively discussions, deeper reflection, and active participation among children. Many have begun expressing their ideas through storytelling and illustrations, showing stronger comprehension of concepts like empathy, healthy habits, and environmental care. Stories from Katha’s rich library have enabled children to see themselves in the characters, relate lessons to their daily lives, and become more confident in their voices. These workshops have strengthened their academic learning and deepened their sense of social and environmental responsibility.
