Journey – Nisarg

Nisarg’s journey began in the vibrant landscapes of Manipur, driven by a mission to empower communities through sustainable development, education, and innovative livelihood programs. Our early years in Manipur were marked by deep emotional connections with farming and artisanal communities. We helped these communities recognise the power of entrepreneurship and collective action, leading to significant economic, social, and emotional advancements.

2015

Establishment of the First LBI

We established the first Livelihood Business Incubator (LBI) in Manipur. We adopted a cluster-based approach to maximise beneficiary participation and production.

2016

Development of ‘Make in Manipur’ Project

We developed the ‘Make in Manipur’ project and established the first turmeric cluster on 500 acres in Manipur. We also initiated village-level processing in Nagaland.

2017

Technological Advancements and Expansion

We assisted in the growth of LBIs in Manipur, expanding to a total of nine. We also started tech-supported cultivation of high-value crops such as Stevia, Moringa, and edible Jatropha.

2018

Innovative Livelihood and Agricultural Solutions

We developed low-cost models for dairy and poultry livelihood programs, making sustainable livelihoods more accessible. Under Sylife™, we initiated Stevia and Moringa cultivation on 100 acres, promoting the growth of high-value crops to enhance rural economies.

2019

Incorporated Nisarg Agripreneurship Foundation

Nisarg Agripreneurship Foundation was incorporated with a vision to revolutionise agriculture and rural development. We initiated collaboration with the MSME Technology Development Centre (PPDC, Agra) to enhance our capabilities. We successfully developed the first commercially functioning Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) in Arunachal Pradesh. Our efforts also led to the creation of the Make in Manipur project, along with the development of the first turmeric cluster and Livelihood Business Incubator (LBI) in Manipur.

2020

Developed First SFURTI Cluster

We developed the first SFURTI cluster and deployed our digital intervention app, Monetari. We also started developing an IoT-based production system and implemented an AI-based value-addition model at the village and block levels.

2021

Accorded With Nodal Agency Status by MSME

We started blockchain solution models at the rural level in partnership with Nexstellar Services Pvt Ltd. We developed 32 Industry 4.0 ready SFURTI clusters. We were accorded with Nodal Agency status by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, becoming the sole private entity to receive this status.

2022

Introduced Industry 4.0 Solutions

We collaborated with the National Productivity Council and the Ministry of Commerce & Industry for Industry 4.0 solutions. We introduced IoT-based SMART farming using LoRaWAN technology in 200 FPOs.

2023

Defined Our Three Flagship Programmes

We introduced three flagship programs focusing on sectors like education, rural livelihood, and environmental conservation: Abhishala, Sylife, and Pragati through Prakriti. Nisarg has proposed work under Government of India projects such as ASPIRE, CDP, and PMKVY.
