Democratising Advance Precision Farming Technology

Our experts have years of research behind sustainable precision farming solutions that help marginal, small and large farmers alike. Our system celebrates the symbiotic relationship between man and nature. A system that doesn't treat nature as resource rather a partner of uplifting life, income and health. The science and technology empowers us in using better tools to our advantage. Our system is based upon scientific principles that are evidential, quantifiable and harmonious.

High Density Plantation

What is High Density Plantation

High Density Planting (HDP) or Ultra High Density Planting (UHDP) are special techniques and material leads to a very high productivity per unit area without sacrificing quality. In addition to Apple, quite a few other fruit can be grown with HDP system, depending upon the climactic conditions.

Benefits of High Density Plantation

HDP/UHDP offers many advantages over conventional horticulture farming:

  • Induces precocity, increases yield and improves fruit quality.
  • Reduces labour cost resulting in low cost of production.
  • Makes the best use of vertical and horizontal space per unit time.
  • Increased capture sunlight per unit area.
  • Harnesses maximum possible returns per unit of inputs and resources.
  • Enables the mechanisation of fruit crop production.
  • Facilitates more efficient use of fertilizers, water, solar radiation, fungicides, weedicides and pesticides.
  • The high-density planting requires active canopy management includes pruning, training i.e.,
  • It also helps to increase fruit production and improve fruit quality in the long term.

Steps of HDP

Desired Ground Preparation

Moving earth - leveling the ground - soil and water testing - digging trenches and closing - nutrient supplements to the soil

Installing Drip Irrigation

Installing drip irrigation system for optimised irrigation and nutrient infusion.

Installation of Trellis and Fencing

Installing trellis systems for selected dwarf variety of plants for optimal height management

Planting Dwarf Root Stock

The rootstock is planted ensuring that the plants grow to a limited size which promotes early fruiting.

Training and Pruning Plants

Training and pruning are continuous done for growing maximum fruit successfully.

Plucking the first yield

The first yield is plucked and the fruit are polished and packed for
transportation.

Role of the dwarfing root-stock

Rootstocks for high-density planting must control tree size, reduce vigor and induce precocity or early fruiting. Many of the modern tree forms for intensive orchards such as slender spindle and vertical axis are achievable only with the help of dwarfing rootstocks.

The high-density planting requires canopy management includes pruning, training i.e., positioning limbs in specific ways to manage growth and maintain the tree growth for strong and healthy trees using growth regulators. It also helps to increase fruit production and improve fruit quality in the long term.

Canopy Management

The high-density planting requires canopy management includes pruning, training i.e., positioning limbs in specific ways to manage growth and maintain the tree growth for strong and healthy trees using growth regulators. It also helps to increase fruit production and improve fruit quality in the long term. Some of the basic principles in canopy management are:
  • Maximum utilization of light.
  • Convenience in carrying out the cultural practices.
  • Avoidance of built-up microclimate congenial for diseases and pest infestation.
  • Economy in obtaining the required canopy architecture.
  • Maximizing productivity with quality fruit production.

The efficient canopy management ensures a strong frame work having branches on all directions with near equidistance between branches.

Frequently Asked Questions

It is an approach to farm management that uses information technology (IT) to ensure that crops and soil receive exactly what they need for optimum health and productivity. The goal of PA is to ensure profitability, sustainability and protection of the environment.

The term means a series of strategies and tools that allow farmers to optimise and increase soil quality and productivity putting in place a series of targeted key interventions, a result that can be accomplished thanks to the introduction of increasingly advanced technologies.

Benefits:
  • Reduced costs
  • Increased Profitability
  • Enhanced Sustainability
  • Better Harvestability
  • Increased Land Values
  • Higher Resolutions Understanding of Your Farm
  • Better In season Yield Understanding

According to the results, experts found underground and surface waters conservation, rural areas development, increase of productivity and increasing income as the most important impacts of these agricultural technologies. Experts' attitudes indicate their positive view toward these kinds of impacts.

Innovations that explicitly capitalise on spatial variability, such as precision agriculture and mosaic farming hold promise through their potential to increase production efficiency while reducing on-site degradation of soil resources and off-site environmental problems.

It benefits to the environment come from more targeted use of inputs that reduce losses from excess applications and from reduction of losses due to nutrient imbalances, weed escapes, insect damage, etc. Other benefits include a reduction in pesticide resistance development.

What are the advantages of precision farming? It will enhance agricultural productivity and prevent soil degradation in cultivable land resulting in sustained agricultural development. It will reduce excessive chemical usage in crop production. Water resources will be utilized efficiently under the precision farming.
